The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears was first formally published by an English poet by the name of Robert Southey in 1837, although the original fairy tale dates way further back. In fact, there is an earlier version of the story that was handwritten by Eleanor Mure in 1813, which she gave to her nephew in the form of a handmade book..
